Where we sit as a society right now, is on top of a large rubbish tip – also known as Planet Earth. We’re trashing our home, making a bed of our waste… and now we must lay in it. I saw my neighbours bin the other day, overflowing with plastic milk cartons, chip packets, polystyrene meat trays, and it bought back the fact that not everyone knows the best way to reduce waste in their home. While some of this may be second nature, it’s not that way for all.
Reducing plastic, waste and packaging in your home may take time, but can be done in small incremental steps to make it sustainable long term.
Here are some easy tips and great resources to get your home green in 2017!
Last year I shared my favourite eco friendly and cruelty free gifts for Christmas. It was such a popular blog and I couldn’t wait to do it again!
My idea of gifting is somewhat different than most. I want to gift something more than just a throwaway trifle, or something that’ll be used and forgotten about, or something that harms the earth and its inhabitants.
Have you seen this bundle of love yet?! This week’s #truelovetuesdays star is Vince! Vince is a playful and loving pup, with lots of smarts, is willing to learn, and is looking for a family to call his own!
I’ve been so excited to show-off Stella in front of the camera. We met a few weeks ago and clicked immediately. She’s an Irish Wolfhound X Sharpei – and having wolfie in her, reminded me so much of Holly! She’s such a sweetie – wait until you see her on camera!
For a very long time, I’ve wanted to collaborate closely with a dog shelter, and help promote #adoptdontshop – a cause which I’m extremely passionate about. Being a fur-mama to three adopted pooches, it’s a cause close to my heart, and I’ve seen first hand the difference that one person can make in a dogs life.
My search for fashion that ticks my multiple boxes has been difficult, insightful, sad, and inspiring. Difficult, as there’s a big gap in the fashion world – and ethical fashion is severely under promoted. Insightful, as I’ve learnt a lot about where my clothing comes from (and goes). Sad, as in my research there are multiple brands that are super successful in the ‘fast fashion’ industry and are simply feeding the issue. And inspiring! Inspiring as in this search I’ve come across some incredible designers and ateliers, online stores and fashionistas who are making waves in this huge industry.
