In a world with so many problems, both locally and globally, and so many issues facing us as a collective, a lot of people ask me ‘how do you choose what issue to support?’.
And it’s a real and very valid concern!
Raise your hand if you have a pantry full of stuff, and complain there’s never anything to eat. Much like a closet full of clothes and nothing to wear, this can be a serious source of stress for many people. So together, we’re going to find out if you need a pantry overhaul or not.
Last week, I took my friend Sara bulk foods shopping for the very first time. It was so exciting for me and allowed me to see through the eyes of someone who’d never bulk food shopped before… and I saw it was a tad overwhelming when you don’t know where to start! I know there are many listeners out there who’ve never bulk food shopped before, so wanted to share some easy green tips and tricks to make your bulk food shopping experience a joy!
How many of you have told your friends and family about wanting to ‘go green’ or being a vegetarian or a vegan, or anything that bucks societal norms… only to be met with ridicule, incredulity, or even sadly, anger?
In this episode I wanted to talk about waste – and in particular the waste of organic fruit and vegies, and how you can transform it into healthy leftovers so nothing gets thrown away.
When you use the best organic fruit and veg, you want to get the most out of it- and there are so many ways to use leftover fruits, vegetables and nuts; and not all of them how you’d expect…
Going green relates to many facets of your life – everything from recycling, reducing waste, and making sustainable choices – and it also relates to your diet.
The ‘greenest’ diet there is, is a vegan diet.
Surrounded by stigmas and hatred, many people associate veganism with brown rice and tofu, a ‘hippie’ lifestyle, and someone who’ll voice their opinions the second you mention the words ‘Big Mac’.
But I wanted to help clear a few things up. Even if you’re a meat eater, check this out – I promise this episode will be informative and interesting! I’m also going to share with you a delicious challenge! Here’s the links to the recipes I mention in the podcast:
Today I wanted to talk about plastic. I know it’s not glamorous, but don’t switch off yet! Please. It’s a serious issue and one that’s not going away.
Did you know that Australians dump over 1 million tonnes of plastic waste in landfill each year? Believe it or not, enough plastic is discarded every year to circle the globe four times. Even worse, it is estimated that 50% of the plastic on this planet is used only once before being thrown away.
It is! And it gets worse…
In this episode of the Easy Green Podcast, I wanted to take you back a bit – to my journey, where I started, and to assure you that everyone starts somewhere. I explain what it means to go green, and share some really easy tips that will help you get started!
My 2016 has been radically different than any other year that I’ve had in many ways. After my year of downsizing in 2015 and starting to shift my ideas of consumerism, I become obsessed in many ways of what I was doing to not only help the planet, but I was doing to harm it. And everything changed. The way I shopped, the way I viewed possessions, the money that I spent on meaningless crap, and the things I threw away. They way I reused things, refused things and recycled things. And I promise, that if I can do this – the former self proclaimed ‘queen of crap’, that anyone can do it. Anyone can choose to #gogreen2017.
