I love vision boards. I’ve been making them for years and everything about them resonates so highly with what im doing.
They are powerful tools to use when creating and dreaming, as they keep your goals and visions in the front of your mind; extremely important if you want to manifest everything your heart desires.
The idea behind a Vision Board is that when you surround yourself with images, words and feelings of how you want your life to look, the Universe will make powerful shifts to make this happen.
We filmed a segment for HealthTalks and spoke all about Vision Boards, and you can see some examples of mine below!
How do you make a Vision Board?
Cardboard or a pin/cork board
A photo of you (an optional but very powerful tip from The Space in Between)
Glue or pins
Pictures, words, drawings, photos; anything that resonates with you and makes you feel GOOD!
(Use magazines, newspapers, and also check out op-shops for stacks of magazines, do a Google search to print off pictures and even go and take photos of things that evoke emotions for you. Use old greeting cards, postcards……etc etc)
These images or words don’t need to make any sense.
I have a picture of a woman with a big sparkly butterfly mask on her head. I have a picture of a bluebird. I have the words ‘Angels’, ‘Instinct’, ‘Uplifting’ and ‘Sense of Arrival’ on mine.
I have a picture of the Chakras, an elephant, a 4WD towing a caravan and a compass.
To my conscious mind, they didn’t make sense when I chose them. But to my soul, my spirit and my higher self, these pictures were IT. I could feel them. The joy and delight, the mystery and mastery, the adventure and reward.
We KNOW what we want; sometimes it just about listening to something other than mind-chatter and trusting yourself.
Before you start gluing, sit quietly, and really think about what you want to achieve from the board. Words or visions may come into your mind; you can write these down to reflect upon while you are creating, and even find a way to include these on the board.
Go through the images you have chosen and be ruthless; do they all still evoke the same emotions from you? Your original choices may not have the same strength when you look at them again. Put those aside, and focus on the right images for your board.
Start gluing away! Make it bright, bold, colourful and sparkly. Or simplistic, clean and fresh. The choice is yours.
It doesn’t matter what order you paste or pin, it is YOUR vision and is perfect no matter what it looks like.
I’ve already made two this year and have found them to be a powerful tool to getting whatever I want. Anyone can make one, young or mature, male or female; your goals and dreams and visions are YOURS.
No one can take them away from you.
Meditate with them, focussing on the images and words and how they make you feel.
You should feel excited, empowered, with wholehearted belief in your dreams!
Place your vision board somewhere you will see it often- I have one on the wall in my studio and another above my desk. You can put one (or a photo of it) on your fridge, toilet door, bedroom wall, phone screen, computer screen…anywhere you will see it regularly. You can also create and online pinboard using Pinterest.
Used in conjunction with my ‘…how to guide to getting what you want’, the sky is the limit when your intentions are powerful!
You can also choose to make a theme based board (think: love, romance, new home, holiday, work, business, abundance etc), so choose images and words that resonate directly with your theme.
If making a vision board doesn’t make your creative juices scream with delight, how about a Vision Journal?
Pick a gorgeous book to write in (it can be coloured, plain, bound or a simple exercise book). Start writing, doodling and imagining.
You are only as limited as your imagination Vegies!
