I am not one to vilify food groups or ingredients; however there’s definitely something to be said for cutting back on our consumption of refined sugar. When I think of sugar, I think of that icky white ‘crack’ that is found in soft drinks (soda), lollies (candy), chocolate and other highly processed foods. Dates, rice malt syrup, agave, coconut sugar and molasses are all forms of sugar – perhaps less damaging than the white stuff, but no less sweet or high in fructose.
If you require specific dietary requirements, are diabetic, or are embarking on a lifestyle change of any kind, I highly recommend you seek the advice of your favourite health care professional.
The Humble Avocado
Avocado can be used in so many different ways- some of which you’ll see below. One of my favourite ways to eat it, is to cut it in half, squeeze some lemon juice, salt and pepper, some garlic salt and some chilli flakes. I then eat it straight from the skin. Delicious!

Nut butter- straight from the jar (even better if it’s homemade!!)
